Is this conference appropriate for me? If you have a vested interest in issues of safety and security, this conference is for you! By bringing together a variety of participants -- practitioners, researchers, and community leaders -- we hope to cultivate rich and productive discussions. Such an interdisciplinary environment is representative of the real world safety and security realm, and as we explore issues of regional coordination, these varied viewpoints will be indispensible. How much does it cost to attend SASER 2008? The price is $100 per attendee, which will be used to defray the cost of food. This fee is waived for faculty, staff, and students of universities or other educational institutions. Back to question list
I am a faculty member / staff person / student at a university or other educational institution. Do you offer discounts? University faculty, staff, and students do not have to pay the registration fee. This registration fee waiver also applies to persons who work for or attend other educational institutions. Will you subsidize parking for attendees? No, we are not able to subsidize parking fees for conference attendees. If you do choose to park on campus, please be advised that the parking fee is $12 per day. What else is happening at the University of Washington? UW Visitor Information: The Visitor Information webpage for the University of Washington provides a good resource for current and upcoming campus happenings, as well as your crucial, basic visitor info -- maps, university contact information, food options. A good starting place, if you're looking to see what the rest of campus has to offer during your visit. If you'd rather visit the Information Center in person than on the web, here is a map of the Center's location on campus. (Please note that the Center is located on the basement floor of Odegaard Undergraduate Library. Henry Art Gallery: Located on campus, the Henry Art Gallery will be hosting an exhibition entitled "Roman Holiday," which showcases images of famous sites in Rome. Burke Museum: The Burke Museum will be hosting "Arctic Wings: Miracle of Migration," a photography exhibit about the migratory birds who migrate annually to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Meany Hall: The School of Drama will be performing Twelfth Night in Meany Hall for the Performing Arts on Thursday (10/30), Friday (10/31), and Saturday (11/1) evenings.
